Community / support / Not mounting for Proton Drive
Avatar
Hello, I started using S3Drive a couple of days ago for Proton Drive, on a Ubuntu 22.04 machine. Things were going well but today S3Drive is not being able to mount, and I already restarted my laptop. Any idea whether I did something wrong? I'm leaving a printscreen of the problem, but basically it seems there was a TLS handshake timeout. I have version 1.17.7. Thanks! (I know Proton is not an easy provider from what I've been seeing in the past, but I thought that with the recent update things were solved, and that's why I'm wondering whether there's something I can do here) (edited)

Hi @Tiago, What's your release, is that .deb, .AppImage or Flathub? I've just checked Ubuntu (26.04 though) and I could connect to Proton without issues. This error may indicate some weird networking issue either on your or Proton end. Once this error occurs, can you try visiting the URL, e.g.: https://drive-api.proton.me/ in your browser and see if you can open it without problems? You could also try connecting your desktop/laptop to e.g. mobile tethered connection to rule out some potential networking issues. Thanks!

I used the .deb. Thank you so much for your prompt reply, it turns out my network is blocking this connection - as soon as I turned on my VPN, the mounting started working again! (Indeed I'm on a different place from the previous days) Sorry for being such a simple problem, and thanks again! (edited)
