Can you please let me know if there is any error you get on startup for either .deb, AppImage of Flatpak?

Regarding startup issue, what's your OS version exactly? We know that it wasn't working on some Linuxes, but Debian/Ubuntu shall work fine. If that's not the case we'll need to retest on specific version and apply the fix.
We haven't tested exactly on Mint. It seems to more and more users use Mint, we may have to prioritise adjusting S3Drive, so it's all compatible.
Despite this OS being Debian family, it seems there are actually lots of differences.
Finally, you've mentioned that some settings haven't persisted on your AppImage release. Do they persist in the .deb that just started? What settings do you refer to? Are these login credentials?
so both the deb (with fixes) and AppImage will run now, buckets persist, but it wont save the launch on startup option and mounting is weird- on exiting the app the mounts remain, and you have to manually umount them or the option for mounting on startup fails

These issues (mount unmount and startup problems) are unfortunately current state that we'll aim to fix within next couple weeks.
We'll certainly need ourselves set up with Mint and do proper app testing, as that's something we've never done.
If you're willing to wait a bit that's great. If you find it a deal breaker we would be willing to issue you a refund.

and as for the not saving the autorun option? i guess just call the cli as a startup app? why isn't there a clean way to exit the app?
We use cross-platform technology, so we have one client, single codebase that we release on all platforms using some frameworks, libraries.
That helps us a lot to deliver single user experience to all devices, but sometimes platform specific tricks are required and in some cases obvious things are not that simple to achieve.(edited)
