Hi Tom, I'm curious. Is the Lifetime pricing limited or is it forever? Like example next year, there will no be no more lifetime pricing. And will only be back again after some time.

For sure, once user gets one it will be honored lifetime. Having said that, we have no plans to withdraw Ultimate Lifetime from our offer.

I understand, but in what way would this support S3Drive long-term viability? Because like Filen or other cloud storage that also does lifetime, they just do it in special days or like a surplus to maintain financial stability or something. (edited)

Please be aware that we're selling lifetime license to use the product, we're NOT selling lifetime storage plans. Lifetime license (not storage) doesn't cost us a lot to sustain, product development is expensive, but overall cost doesn't depend on number of licenses sold. If we were to sell lifetime storage, that means that after ~3 years such every user with lifetime storage is only generating costs for our business. In order to sustain it, we would need to:
  • sell even more lifetime storages to cover the costs <--- that's how pyramid schemes work,
  • redirect revenue from other streams to cover costs,
  • introduce aggressive ToS to have excuse to close down lifetime user accounts (e.g. inactivity period, storing copyrighted material), We don't want above, we don't find lifetime storage plans being feasible, so we don't sell them. Major player don't sell them either, since they can't risk their long-term business viability.

Thank you for the insight, and yes, you're absolutely right about that. Mostly, new services that advertise lifetime plans either don’t last long or end up being a fraud. Got confused too for some reason with storage and the storage, lol
