Community / support / [Win10] S3Drive cannot show progress for files transferred through explorer mount
Avatar
If I copy files and/or folders with Windows' explorer, with my S3 bucket mapped as a network drive, S3Drive's UI doesn't show me any progress information, despite the fact that there is significant network bandwith used for upload. I have to rely on Task Manager's network tab to tell if S3Drive is still uploading something. I believe progress information should be shown as if I manually uploaded those objects through the "upload" menu of the app.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. You're right, that's current behavior. At the moment mount is a separate process which isn't integrated within the app, however better integration is on our radar. Initially we aim to update tray icon to indicate progress: https://s3drive.canny.io/feature-requests/p/drive-mount-pending-uploads-indicator Possibly at this level tray icon will show upload/download transfer use and possible ETA to finish pending transfers. In the future we may list individual operations in the Transfers tab.
Currently when user uploads files through the mount they don't exactly have clue if file is already uploaded and whether they can safely disconnect the app.
