Community / support / [Solved, Win10] Clicking on the back arrow (top-left corner) causes the app to minimize to desktop
Avatar
Hello, as the title says - when I am sitting in a page like the settings, and click on the upper-left arrow to go back, S3Drive minimizes to desktop. Note that the app doesn't crash and can still be brought up by going into its icon on the bottom-right corner of the taskbar. I believe the app shouldn't minimize when clicking this button, as when i do, I want to actually go back to my files list. I use S3Drive v1.14.0 with Windows 10.

Thanks for your feedback. We'll look into that, in principle it shouldn't behave like that. How do you navigate to settings, is that from the login page or from left hard drawer menu? Is that Profile Settings or App Settings that you refer to?

Ironically enough, just as I was sending this bug report, the error suddenly disappeared. The only deciding factor I can think of is that happened during the enormous folder transfer from my other bug report about memory usage.

I would still consider the option of a real bug, as it was undesired behavior, but at the moment it seems to have resolved it on its own. (edited)

Please note that when this issue happened, it seemingly persisted between sessions - if that helps.

Thanks for the update. In a next release we've already included updates to our router which may coincidentally fix this issue as well. If by any chance it reappears please let us know, in the meantime we'll stay alerted and keep an eye on it as well.

Okay, for some reason the issue happens again now.

And this time, the app minimizes when I enter a folder and / or use the back arrow.

Here are the logs I exported, I reckon there's nothing intersting in there

These are useful and I start to wonder if this is related to "Launch app at startup" feature, which aims to start app minimized. It sounds like this logic is kicking in whilst you browse the app which was auto-started when your machine started. When you close S3Drive and open it yourself the bug probably won't be there, but once app auto-starts it is possible that in some cases this triggers this issue. It's just a hypothesis though.

Very good intuition, I confirm the bug disappears if I quit-then-launch S3Drive manually

This shall be resolved in a most recent: https://github.com/s3drive/windows-app/releases/tag/1.14.1 (edited)
